F&%@*( Mondays

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Monday was a baaaaaaaad night.

The car had been acting up a bit of late… couple fits here and there starting.  I had planned to take it in tomorrow for its (overdue) service.  Well last night I remembered with minutes to spare that I had acupuncture at 6pm.  I go to start the car, and the engine barely turns over.  I back out of my driveway, and the steering is just way too tight.

I park it, start it again, problem magically solved.

I make my appointment, and non chinese needle guy starts taking my pulses on each side (6 on each side if you remember.  yeah.  i know).  Although this time he does both sides, then comes back to my left side to do it again… and then he makes a crinkly face.  uh oh.

so he tells me that the pulse he was feeling has to do with my decision making & planning.  While it may not have affected me yet, eventually I’m going to screw something up.  excellent.  I’m in the middle of my two busiest weeks with work, and i have needlemanson warning me I’m about to make some bad decisions with regards to work.  panic.

but no worries.  he sticks 2 needles in each foot, takes my “pulse” again, and then proceeds to tell me that it was better now.

umm.  ok.  Let’s just say I was just extra careful today in what I was trading.

When I go to leave the car is completely dead.  It won’t even mutter a spudder.  I have to call my neighbors to come get me and try to jump the car (which of course doesn’t work).  Once back home, I had to call the BMW service line for a tow.  Well of course I have to bum another ride, go back and sit in my vehicle (acupuncture place now closed), in the cold, waiting for the truck to come.

he gets there, manages to use some fancy smancy super powered jump box thing to get my car started, and sends me on my way.

now i have a dead bmw sitting in my garage that starts once, and once only, a day.  Tomorrow I have to get up butt assed early to get it to towson by 730.  should be fun.  assuming it starts.

i’m assuming most of you had a better monday than i did.
